Canine Massage & Supportive Wellness

Gentle Care. Individualized to Your Dog.

Every dog experiences touch, aging, mobility changes, and relaxation differently.

At Willow Paws, sessions are never about making a dog conform to a particular massage routine. I meet each dog where they are and allow their comfort, body language, and preferences to guide the session.

Some dogs settle in immediately. Others prefer to stand, change positions, take breaks, or walk away and return when they're ready.

That's okay.

My goal is to create a calm, positive experience while supporting your dog's overall comfort and well-being.

Senior dogs are my specialty. Dogs of all ages are welcome.

Canine Massage

30–45 Minutes | $80

Gentle, individualized massage designed to support relaxation, comfort, body awareness, and overall wellness.

Massage may be especially appreciated by senior dogs, active dogs, dogs experiencing age-related changes, or dogs who simply enjoy therapeutic touch.

Every session is adapted to your dog's tolerance and preferences. Your dog is always free to change positions, take breaks, or end the session.

Sessions May Support:

  • relaxation and overall comfort

  • healthy circulation

  • comfortable movement

  • body awareness

  • relaxation of everyday muscular tension

  • general wellness as dogs age

  • positive, calming one-on-one interaction

Canine massage is a complementary wellness service and is not a substitute for veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or rehabilitation.

Canine Massage + Cold Laser

30–45 Minutes | $85

For dogs who are appropriate candidates, cold laser may be incorporated into a canine massage session as an additional supportive modality.

Cold laser uses low-level light and is commonly used within veterinary and animal-wellness settings. At Willow Paws, it is offered within my professional training and scope as a complement to the dog's existing care.

For dogs with diagnosed medical conditions, recent injuries or surgeries, or significant changes in mobility or comfort, veterinary guidance may be requested before treatment.

Reiki for Pets

20–30 Minutes | $40

Reiki offers a quiet, non-invasive option for animals who may benefit from a calm environment and gentle energetic interaction.

Unlike massage, Reiki does not require physical manipulation or sustained touch. This can make it an option for animals who are sensitive to handling, easily overwhelmed, very elderly, or simply prefer more space.

Sessions are guided by the animal. Reiki may be offered with light touch when welcomed or from a comfortable distance.

Many families choose Reiki as part of their pet's relaxation and comfort routine or during periods of transition and change.

Reiki is a complementary wellness practice and does not diagnose or treat medical conditions or replace veterinary care.

Senior Dog Comfort & Wellness

Supporting the Changing Needs of Aging Dogs

Senior dogs often tell us what they need in subtle ways.

They may take longer to stand.

Choose different sleeping locations.

Become hesitant on stairs.

Move more carefully.

Seek more rest.

Or simply need us to adjust our expectations.

My work with senior dogs is centered around listening to those changes rather than fighting against them.

Sessions may be modified for dogs who cannot comfortably maintain traditional massage positions. Massage can take place while your dog is standing, lying on their side, resting in their favorite bed, or moving between positions.

There is no requirement that your dog remain still.

There is no “perfect” massage session.

A successful session is one in which your dog feels safe, respected, and comfortable.

Mobility & Home Comfort

As dogs age, changes in strength, balance, vision, coordination, or confidence can make everyday activities more challenging.

Willow Paws is expanding its educational focus to include senior-dog mobility and home-comfort resources for families navigating these changes.

Topics may include:

  • traction and slippery flooring

  • comfortable and accessible resting spaces

  • navigating stairs and thresholds

  • entering and exiting vehicles

  • supportive mobility harnesses

  • ramps and other accessibility tools

  • wheelchairs and mobility equipment

  • recognizing changes worth discussing with your veterinarian

I have completed additional professional education in canine mobility equipment, including Walkin' Wheels certification, and continue to expand my education in senior canine comfort, mobility, and arthritis awareness.

Mobility education provided by Willow Paws does not constitute veterinary rehabilitation, physical therapy, diagnosis, or treatment.

Working Alongside Your Veterinary Team

Willow Paws is designed to complement your dog's existing veterinary care, not replace it.

Canine massage and supportive wellness services do not diagnose disease, prescribe treatment, or replace veterinary medicine or veterinary rehabilitation.

If I notice something during a session that concerns me or falls outside my professional scope, I may recommend that you speak with your veterinarian or another appropriately qualified professional before continuing.

I welcome collaboration with veterinarians, veterinary rehabilitation professionals, hospice and palliative-care teams, and other professionals involved in your dog's care.

What Does a Session Look Like?

Especially for a first visit, I allow time for your dog to become comfortable with me before expecting anything from them.

For some dogs, that happens immediately.

For others, trust takes time.

We'll talk about your dog's history, routines, preferences, veterinary care, and anything you've noticed at home.

Then I let your dog help determine how the session unfolds.

Massage may happen on a bed, blanket, floor, or other comfortable location.

Your dog can move.

Your dog can take breaks.

Your dog can say no.

And sometimes the most important thing I can do during a first visit is simply earn their trust.

When Should I Contact My Veterinarian First?

Please contact your veterinarian before scheduling—or let me know before the session—if your dog is experiencing:

  • a new or unexplained change in mobility

  • sudden or significant pain

  • a recent injury

  • recent surgery

  • unexplained swelling

  • fever or active illness

  • sudden behavioral changes

  • difficulty breathing

  • unexplained neurological symptoms

  • any condition for which your veterinarian has restricted activity or bodywork

When in doubt, veterinary evaluation comes first.
