Helping Senior Dogs Live More Comfortably
Canine Massage • Mobility Support • Senior Dog Wellness
Compassionate, individualized support for aging dogs and the people who love them.
At Willow Paws, I believe our dogs deserve comfort, dignity, and connection throughout every stage of life, especially their senior years.
Through gentle canine massage, supportive wellness services, mobility education, and practical resources for families, my goal is to help you better support your dog as their needs change with age.
Senior dogs are my specialty. Dogs of all ages are always welcome.
Supporting Your Dog Through the Golden Years
Aging can bring changes that happen gradually or seemingly overnight.
Maybe your dog is taking a little longer to get up from bed. Perhaps they're hesitant on the stairs, slipping on smooth floors, sleeping more, moving differently, or simply needing a little extra help doing the things that once came easily.
These changes can be difficult for the people who love them, too.
Willow Paws is here to provide gentle, compassionate support focused on your dog's comfort, relaxation, mobility, and quality of life, while helping you feel more informed and supported along the way.
Every dog is different. Every senior journey is different.
That's why Willow Paws meets each dog exactly where they are.
Canine Massage & Supportive Wellness
Canine massage can be a wonderful part of a dog's overall wellness routine, particularly as their bodies and needs change with age.
Sessions are never about making a dog lie still or forcing them into a particular position.
Some dogs stretch out and fall asleep.
Some prefer standing.
Some wander away and return.
Some need breaks.
And some simply need time to decide that I'm trustworthy.
I follow the dog's cues and adapt each session to their comfort, tolerance, personality, and needs that day.
Services may include canine massage, Reiki, and other supportive wellness modalities within my professional training and scope of practice.
Willow Paws services are intended to complement, not replace appropriate veterinary care.
Comfort & Mobility Matter
Sometimes the first signs of aging aren't dramatic.
You may notice your dog:
taking longer to rise after resting
hesitating before using stairs
slipping more often on smooth flooring
needing assistance getting into a vehicle
tiring sooner on walks
changing where or how they sleep
needing more support during everyday activities
Small changes to your dog's environment and routine can sometimes make daily life easier.
As Willow Paws grows, I'm expanding my focus on senior-dog mobility and home comfort to help families better understand supportive options such as traction, accessible resting spaces, mobility harnesses, ramps, wheelchairs, and other tools designed to help aging dogs navigate everyday life.
When a concern requires veterinary or rehabilitation expertise, I believe strongly in working alongside and referring to the appropriate professionals.
More Than a Massage
Willow Paws grew from my work as a canine massage therapist, but over the years my senior clients and their families have taught me that caring for an aging dog involves so much more.
It means adapting.
Observing.
Celebrating the good days.
Finding new ways to do old things.
And sometimes simply making life a little softer and easier.
Willow Paws is growing into a resource for families navigating this journey, combining hands-on wellness with education, practical resources, mobility support, and the lessons I've learned from the dogs who have trusted me along the way.
Meet Margherita
I'm Margherita Lavorgna, a Certified Canine Massage Therapist and Connecticut Licensed Massage Therapist with years of experience working with dogs of different ages, personalities, abilities, and comfort levels.
Senior and special-needs dogs have always held a particularly meaningful place in my work.
My approach is gentle, consent-based, and centered around the individual dog in front of me. I continue to expand my education in canine wellness, mobility, supportive care, and complementary modalities so I can be a knowledgeable resource for the families who trust me with their dogs.
My professional education includes canine massage, companion-animal cold laser, Reiki, and canine mobility education, including Walkin' Wheels certification.
Above all, I believe our dogs deserve to be heard, respected, and supported throughout their lives.
Real Dogs. Real Families. Real Relationships.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with remarkable dogs and the people who love them.
Some came to Willow Paws as active adults.
Others came during their senior years.
Some lived with significant mobility challenges or changing physical needs.
Others simply discovered that massage felt pretty wonderful.
Every one of them has taught me something.
Their stories continue to shape the way I approach canine wellness today and the direction Willow Paws is growing.
Resources for Your Senior Dog Journey
You don't have to wait until something is wrong to start thinking about your dog's comfort.
The Willow Paws Senior Dog Resource Center is being developed to give families practical, approachable information about aging, canine massage, everyday mobility, home comfort, and supporting quality of life.
You'll also find downloadable guides, journals, checklists, and resources designed to help you notice changes, keep track of important information, and have more informed conversations with your dog's veterinary care team.
A Gentle Hand for the Journey
Watching a dog grow older is a privilege.
It can also bring uncertainty, adjustment, worry, laughter, difficult decisions, and an extraordinary amount of love.
Willow Paws exists to help make that journey a little more supported for both of you.
Whether your dog is beginning to slow down, already navigating mobility changes, or simply deserves some extra comfort and relaxation, I'd be honored to be part of their support team.
Senior dogs are my specialty. Dogs of all ages are welcome.
